FUN is what The Truants give you in our show! Our repertoire is selected specifically for dancing and parties featuring classic Rock and Roll. If you’re not dancing at a Truants show, you’re probably recovering from hip surgery. There’s no other explanation.
Our motto is “We play nothing after 1967!” and feature hits, B sides and deep cuts from the British Invasion and Garage band years of the 1960s.
The Truants give you the authentic look and sound of the 1960s with our instruments: Gretsch Duo Jet; Rickenbacker 12-string; Hofner bass; Farfisa organ with Leslie cabinet; vintage Hohner harmonicas. Four vocalists complete the sound with no overdubs, sampling or twerking. We are based in New York City and are available to play anywhere in the lower 48.
We have our own PA system and are available to play at: Private parties; weddings; class reunions; conventions; corporate events; industrials; bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs; sweet 16s or sweet 65s; confirmations… and let’s not forget a bris!
And we have our own comedy writer! Our leader, Bill Scheft, a former stand-up comedian and longtime David Letterman writer, can create and perform special material for ANY event. Just ask!
